As part of its ongoing efforts to improve transportation and parking at the University of Florida, UF faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in the 2018 Transportation and Parking Survey. On Nov. 17, internationally acclaimed artist Naziha Mestaoui unveiled her Live Oak Tree of Life artwork in Innovation Square alongside scientists and leaders of the University of Florida and Gainesville communities.

The newly renovated Plaza of the Americas was dedicated in a ceremony held on the grounds, Friday, Nov. 17. The renovation is a re-envisioning of the Plaza, which has existed as part of UF’s campus since 1905 and was officially named and dedicated in 1931. Since its inception, it has been the heart of campus for many – a place to study, socialize and relax.

A plan for the University of Florida to advance its quest for preeminence by blending spaces and resources with the city of Gainesville and neighborhoods surrounding campus received a top international award this summer.

The University of Florida, in partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation and the City of Gainesville, is preparing to launch the advanced transportation technologies testbed I-STREET (Implementing Solutions from Transportation Research and Evaluation of Emerging Technologies).

The City of Gainesville, University of Florida (UF) and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) are proud to announce their partnership to develop a ‘smart testbed’ for new and evolving advanced transportation technologies and equipment.
