Six months of collaboration culminates in an action plan for arts, culture and humanities linking the University of Florida campus and surrounding community. The “Aligning Strategic Initiatives Through the Arts Report” was led by Dean Lucinda Lavelli of the UF College of The Arts with the help of a diverse steering committee, public input from five Town Hall meetings, and the expertise of Mataraza Consulting. The effort considered the UF Strategic Development Plan together with the City of Gainesville’s Strategic Plan, East Gainesville Master Plan, Vision 2020 Master Plan, and 352 Arts Roadmap. The resulting recommendations identify action steps for the near-, mid-, and long-term that aim to harmonize these plans and build partnerships for success. Funding for this initiative was provided by UF’s Office of the Senior Vice President and COO to advance implementation of the UF Strategic Development Plan.
